Overview

Accurate email metrics are essential for understanding how engaged parents and families are with your communications. Bot activity can artificially inflate your open and click rates, making your data misleading and triggering automations for non-human interactions.

Enrollio's bot detection feature identifies and filters out bot activity from your email analytics and automations, ensuring you see only genuine parent engagement.

How Bot Detection Works

When a bot is detected opening or clicking one of your emails, Enrollio takes two protective actions:

  • Protects Your Analytics: The email open or click won't be counted in your statistics, so your engagement metrics reflect only real parent interactions.
  • Prevents False Automation Triggers: Automations set to trigger from email opens or clicks won't execute when bot activity is detected, keeping your workflows running smoothly and targeting only real families.

Enabling or Disabling Bot Detection

By default, bot detection is turned off. Here's how to enable it:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Business Profile
  2. Look for the General Section
  3. Check or uncheck the bot detection setting to enable or disable the feature

Note: This feature is only available if you're using Mailgun as your email provider.

Pro Tip: If you notice unusually high open rates (above 60-70%) or immediate opens after sending, bot detection can help clean up your data and prevent unnecessary automation triggers to non-engaged families.

  • Get accurate insights into which emails parents actually read
  • Avoid sending follow-up messages to families who haven't genuinely engaged
  • Make better decisions about your email campaigns based on real data
