The Stripe one-time charge trigger lets you automatically charge a parent's card when specific events happen in your automations — like when they book a tour, complete enrollment paperwork, or get off your waitlist.

How It Works

This trigger is connected to your Stripe integration in your Enrollio settings. When the automation runs, it processes a one-time payment using the parent's saved payment method.

Important: The parent must have a default payment method saved in Stripe for the one-time charge to process successfully. If no default card is set, the charge will fail.

Common Use Cases

  • Charging registration fees when families complete enrollment
  • Processing tour booking deposits
  • Collecting waitlist fees automatically
  • Charging for field trips or special events

Setting Up the Trigger

  1. Make sure Stripe is connected in your Enrollio settings
  2. Create or edit an automation
  3. Add the "Stripe One-Time Charge" action where you want the payment to process
  4. Specify the charge amount and description

Pro Tip: Always send a confirmation text or email after a successful charge so parents know exactly what they were billed for.

Troubleshooting

If charges aren't processing, check that:

  • Your Stripe integration is active and connected
  • The parent has a default payment method saved
  • The card on file hasn't expired
  • Your Stripe account is in good standing
