Analytics for Forms and Surveys

Track how your enrollment forms and parent surveys perform with clear, actionable analytics. See views, responses, completion rates, and exactly where parents drop off—so you can improve conversions and get more enrollments.

Overview

Form and survey analytics give you both high-level trends and detailed insights. Track total views, completion rates, and average time to complete. For surveys, you'll see exactly which questions cause parents to abandon the form—and which ones they skip ahead from.

Use this data to identify friction points, test improvements, and increase enrollment conversions.

Key Benefits

  • Clear performance metrics: Total views, responses, completion rate, and average completion time
  • Trend comparison: Compare against the previous period to spot changes and validate improvements
  • Identify friction: Slide-level drop-off shows exactly where parents abandon your surveys
  • Flexible filtering: Focus on a specific form or survey, or review all your forms over any date range

Available Filters and Metrics

Use filters to narrow down to the exact form and timeframe you need, then review the metrics to understand engagement and completion.

Filters

  • Type: Forms or Surveys (top-left dropdown)
  • Asset: All forms/surveys or select a specific one
  • Date Range: Choose from presets (Last 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days) or set a custom range

Metrics

  • Total Views: How many times your form or survey was viewed
  • Responses: Completed submissions
  • Average Time: Average time to complete
  • Completion Rate: Percentage of responses vs. views, with automatic comparison to the previous period
  • Total Views Chart: Line chart showing trends over time
  • Per-Asset Breakdown: Table showing views for each form/survey (when viewing "All" assets)
  • Survey Slide Metrics: Per-question views and drop-off (when a single survey is selected)

How to Use the Analytics Dashboard

  1. Go to Sites in your left navigation menu
  2. Click Analytics in the top navigation
  3. Select your filters:
    • Choose Type (Forms or Surveys)
    • Pick an Asset (All or a specific form/survey)
    • Set your Date Range
  4. Review the data in the metric cards, charts, and tables
Pro Tip: To see per-slide views and drop-off data, change the Asset filter to a single survey. The slide-level table won't appear when viewing "All surveys."

Survey Slide-Level Metrics (Views & Drop-Off)

When you select a single survey, you'll see a detailed table showing performance for each question or slide.

Columns

  • Slide: The question number or title
  • Views: How many parents reached this slide
  • Drop-Off: Change from the previous slide, shown as both a count and percentage

Use this data to identify which questions cause parents to abandon your survey, then test improvements to those specific slides.

Understanding Drop-Off

How Drop-Off is Calculated

For any slide after the first one:

  • Drop-Off (count) = Views of previous slide − Views of current slide
  • Drop-Off (%) = Drop-Off count ÷ Views of previous slide × 100

Notes:

  • Slide 1 shows N/A (no previous slide to compare)
  • Positive drop-off = fewer people reached the current slide
  • Negative drop-off = more people reached the current slide

Why Drop-Off Can Be Negative

Negative drop-off means more parents saw the current slide than the previous one. This happens when:

  • Skip logic routes parents past earlier questions
  • Conditional logic sends parents directly to this slide based on their answers
  • Slide reordering after you've already collected responses changes which slide counts as "previous"

Quick Example

  • Slide 1: 100 views
  • Slide 2: 93 views → Drop-Off = 7 (7%)
  • Slide 3: 98 views → Drop-Off = -5 (-5.4%)
    • Five parents jumped from Slide 1 directly to Slide 3, skipping Slide 2

Troubleshooting Negative Drop-Off

If you see negative drop-off values, check these common causes:

  1. Check conditional logic: Did you create skip rules that route parents to this slide?
  2. Check for legacy routing: Older "move to slide based on option" settings can cause skips
  3. Check slide order changes: Did you reorder slides during your selected date range?
  4. Align your dates: If you changed logic or slide order recently, adjust your date filter to match when you want to analyze

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the "previous period" comparison determined?

It compares your selected date range to an equal-length period immediately before it. For example, if you select Last 14 days, it compares against the 14 days before that.

Why don't I see the breakdown by form or survey?

The per-form/survey breakdown table appears only when you're viewing "All" forms or surveys. When you select a specific asset, you'll see detailed metrics for just that one instead.

I selected a survey but don't see the per-slide table. Why?

The slide-level table appears only when you select a single, specific survey. If you're viewing "All surveys," change the Asset filter to the exact survey you want to analyze.

What analytics types can I choose?

You can select Forms or Surveys from the top-left dropdown. The dropdown also includes other analytics types like enrollment pages, websites, QR codes, and blogs.

The table says "Drop-Off" but shows negative numbers. What does that mean?

Negative drop-off means more parents reached the current slide than the previous one—a net gain. This typically happens with skip logic, conditional routing, or when you've reordered slides after collecting responses.

Why don't I see the slide-level table?

The slide table appears only when a single survey is selected. Switch your Asset filter from "All surveys" to a specific survey to see the per-slide breakdown.

Pro Tip: Review your analytics weekly to catch drop-off trends early. Small improvements to high-friction questions can significantly increase enrollment conversions.
