Building Your Enrollment Site: Complete Guide
Ready to create an amazing enrollment site that converts prospective families? This guide walks you through Enrollio's Site Builder, settings, and everything you need to build professional pages that showcase your childcare program.
What Are Enrollment Sites?
Enrollment sites let you create beautiful, client-facing web pages right inside Enrollio. Build a homepage for your childcare center. Create landing pages to capture tour requests. Design dedicated pages for your programs or events.
Enrollio offers two types of site builders with similar features but different purposes:
Landing Pages
Landing pages guide families through a specific action, like booking a tour or joining your waitlist. They follow a clear path from start to finish, which is why you can split test them to see which version converts better.
Enrollment Sites
These are flexible web pages for any purpose—your center's homepage, program descriptions, staff profiles, or parent resources. Unlike landing pages, there's no single path families follow, so split testing isn't available. But you can still use them to capture leads and drive enrollments.
Should I Use Landing Pages or Enrollment Sites?
Both options work great for most purposes. Here's what sets them apart:
- Split Testing: Only available on landing pages. Create two versions of a page to see which performs better with families.
- Online Store: Only enrollment sites support the eCommerce feature for selling registration fees, merchandise, or other items.
- Page View Interface: The analytics dashboard looks slightly different depending on which type you're using.
Pro tip: Use landing pages for tour requests or waitlist signups where you want to test different approaches. Use enrollment sites for your main website and pages where families browse freely.
Getting Started with Templates

Site Builder Overview
The site builder works the same whether you're editing landing pages or enrollment sites. Let's walk through how to use it.
Navigation Bar
The navigation bar at the top of your builder gives you quick access to all the key features. We'll cover each section below.
[SCREENSHOT: Site builder navigation bar with labeled sections]
Adding Elements to Your Page
Pages are built using sections, rows, and columns that hold your content elements. Think of it like building blocks:
- Sections are the largest containers (like a full-width banner)
- Rows sit inside sections and organize your layout
- Columns sit inside rows and hold your content
- Elements are your actual content (text, images, buttons, forms)
To add an element:
- Click Add Element in the top right
- Use the search bar to find what you need (try "button" or "form" or "image")
- Drag the element to where you want it on your page
- Drop it in place—the builder creates the necessary structure automatically
Pro tip: You can search by common terms. Try "headline" to find Heading, "schedule" to find Calendar, or "slideshow" to find Image Slider.

Understanding Element Structure
Every page element needs proper structure to work. Here's the hierarchy from largest to smallest:
Sections (Green) → Rows (Blue) → Columns (Pink) → Elements (Orange)
The builder now handles this automatically with enhanced drag-and-drop. Just drag an element onto your page and it creates the structure for you.
A few rules to remember:
- You can't nest sections inside sections, rows inside rows, or columns inside columns
- You can have multiple rows in a section
- You can have multiple columns in a row
- You can have multiple elements in a column
Editing Element Settings
To customize any section, row, column, or element:
- Hover over the element
- Click the gear icon that appears, or just click anywhere on the element
- The settings panel opens on the right
Inside the settings, you can adjust spacing, visibility, colors, and more. Check out both the General and Advanced tabs for all available options.

Padding and Margin
Want to add space around your content? You'll use padding and margin.
Padding: Adds space INSIDE an element, pushing content away from the edges. Think of it as internal breathing room.
Margin: Adds space OUTSIDE an element, creating distance between it and other elements. Think of it as external spacing.
You'll find both settings in the element's settings panel on the right side of your screen.

Moving Elements
You can reposition any element on your page in two ways:
Option 1: Use the arrows
Hover over an element and click the up or down arrows to shift it among nearby elements.
Option 2: Drag and drop
Hover over an element, click and hold anywhere on it, then drag it to its new position. Release to drop it in place.

Reordering Columns
Need to swap the position of columns in a row? Here's how:
- Hover over the column you want to move
- Click the move icon (six dots)
- Drag the column left or right
- Drop it in its new position
Cloning Elements
Save time by duplicating elements you've already customized.
To clone an element:
- Hover over the element
- Click the copy icon
- A duplicate appears below the original
- Drag it wherever you need it
This works for sections, rows, columns, and individual elements.
Pop-Up Settings
Pop-ups are great for capturing attention when families visit your enrollment site. Use them for special offers, tour booking reminders, or important announcements.
You can customize when and how pop-ups appear, including entry timing, exit intent, and display frequency.

SEO Meta Data
Help families find your site in Google search results by setting up your SEO metadata.
To add SEO metadata:
- Click Settings in the site builder navigation
- Select SEO Meta Data
- Add your page title (what appears in search results)
- Write a meta description (the snippet text below your title)

Pro tip: Include your city/neighborhood name and key services (like "infant care" or "preschool") in your meta description.

Preview Mode
See exactly how your page looks before publishing. Click Preview in the top navigation to view your page as families will see it—no changes are saved automatically.
Custom Code
Need to add tracking pixels, custom scripts, or third-party integrations? Use the Custom Code section.
To add custom code:
- Click Settings in the navigation
- Select Custom Code
- Paste your code in the Header or Footer section
- Save your changes
Common uses include Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or chat widgets.
2-Column Mode vs. Auto Mode
The site builder offers two layout approaches:
Auto Mode: Columns stack automatically on mobile devices for easy viewing. This is the default and works great for most pages.
2-Column Mode: Forces two columns to stay side-by-side even on mobile. Use this sparingly, as it can make content too small on phones.
You'll find this setting in the row settings panel.
Undo and Redo
Made a mistake? Click the undo arrow in the top navigation. Want to redo something? Click the redo arrow. Simple as that.
Versions, Save, and Publish
The builder automatically saves your work, but you control when changes go live.
Save: Click Save to preserve your current changes without publishing.
Publish: Click Publish to make your changes visible to families visiting your site.
Versions: Access previous versions of your page if you need to restore earlier work. Find this in the Settings menu.
Pro tip: Save often while building. Publish only when you're ready for families to see your changes.
Editing Mobile View
Most families will view your site on their phones, so mobile optimization is crucial.
Mobile Mode
Switch to mobile view while editing to see exactly how your page looks on phones.
To toggle mobile view:
- Click the device icon in the top navigation
- Select mobile or tablet view
- Make adjustments specifically for that screen size
- Switch back to desktop view when done

Hiding Elements on Mobile or Desktop
Sometimes you want different content on mobile versus desktop.
To control element visibility:
- Click on the element you want to control
- Open its settings panel
- Look for Visibility settings
- Toggle mobile or desktop visibility on or off
This is perfect for showing simplified content on mobile or hiding large images that slow down phones.
Mobile Responsiveness Settings
Your pages automatically adapt to different screen sizes, but you can fine-tune how they respond.
In the mobile view editor, adjust:
- Text sizes for readability
- Button sizes for easy tapping
- Image scaling
- Spacing between elements
