SEO Metadata Troubleshooting for Your Enrollment Pages

If your enrollment pages or landing pages aren't showing the right preview images, titles, or descriptions when shared on social media or in search results, you'll need to refresh the cached metadata. Here's how to fix it.

Testing Your Page Metadata

Before making changes, check how your page metadata currently appears:

Metatags Testing Tool: https://metatags.io/

Enter your page URL to see how it will appear when shared on social media and in search results. This tool shows you exactly what parents will see when your page is shared.

Clear Social Media Link Preview Cache

Social media platforms store previews of your pages. When you update your SEO settings, you need to tell these platforms to refresh their cache.

Clear cached previews on Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Twitter:

Follow the instructions in this guide: How to Clear Link Preview Cache

This ensures parents see your updated page title, description, and preview image when sharing your enrollment pages.

Update SEO Settings in Google

To get Google to refresh your page metadata, use the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console.

Step 1: Verify Your Domain

  1. Go to Google Search Console
  2. Add your domain if you haven't already
  3. Use the meta tag verification method to verify ownership
  4. Copy the verification meta tag provided by Google
  5. In Enrollio, navigate to Sites → Settings → SEO Meta Tags
  6. Paste the verification tag in the header section
  7. Return to Google Search Console and click Verify

Step 2: Request Indexing

  1. Once verified, open the URL Inspection Tool
  2. Enter the URL of your enrollment page
  3. Click Request Indexing
  4. Google will crawl your page and update the metadata in search results

This process can take a few hours to a few days depending on Google's crawl schedule.

Pro Tip

After updating your SEO metadata, always test your pages using the metatags.io tool before requesting indexing. This saves time and ensures parents see the right information when they find your pages.

Common Issues

Old preview still showing after clearing cache? Some platforms can take 24-48 hours to fully refresh. Be patient and check again the next day.

Google not indexing your page? Make sure your page is published and not set to "noindex" in your SEO settings.

Different preview on different platforms? Each platform uses slightly different metadata. Check that you've filled out all SEO fields in your page settings, including Open Graph tags for social media.
