Connecting your own domain to Enrollio lets you create a professional, branded experience for families visiting your enrollment pages and website. Instead of a generic URL, parents will see your custom domain — like enroll.yourdaycare.com or www.yourdaycare.com.

Before you begin, you'll need to purchase a domain from a registrar like Cloudflare, GoDaddy, or Namecheap. Once you have your domain, you can connect it to Enrollio in just a few steps.

Can I add the same domain to multiple Enrollio accounts?

No. Each domain can only be connected to one Enrollio client account.

How many domains can I add to one account?

You can add as many domains and subdomains as you need to your Enrollio account.

Do I need to purchase SSL separately?

No. Enrollio automatically generates and installs an SSL certificate for your domain once it's connected. This keeps your families' information secure.

Can I buy a domain directly from Enrollio?

No. You'll need to purchase your domain from a domain registrar like GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or Namecheap.

How many enrollment pages can I connect to one domain?

You can connect multiple enrollment pages and websites to a single domain using different paths (like yourdomain.com/enroll or yourdomain.com/tour).

How to Connect Your Domain

Follow these three steps to connect your custom domain to Enrollio:

Step 1: Add DNS Records at Your Domain Registrar

You'll need to add a DNS record through your domain registrar (like GoDaddy or Cloudflare). Choose one of these two methods:

Option A: CNAME Record (Recommended for Subdomains)

Use this method for subdomains like www.yourdaycare.com or enroll.yourdaycare.com.

Settings to use:

  • Host/Name: Just the subdomain part (e.g., "www" or "enroll")
  • Value/Target: sites.ludicrous.cloud
Important: Don't create both a CNAME and an A record for the same subdomain. Choose one method only.

Instructions by registrar:

Cloudflare users: Set the Proxy status to "DNS only" — Enrollio doesn't support Cloudflare Proxy.

Option B: A Record (For Root Domains)

Use this method for root domains like yourdaycare.com or for subdomains if you prefer.

Settings to use:

  • Host/Name: @ (for root domain) or your subdomain
  • Value/IP Address: 162.159.140.166

Instructions by registrar:

Cloudflare users: Set the Proxy status to "DNS only" — Enrollio doesn't support Cloudflare Proxy.
Be patient: DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect. If your domain doesn't work immediately, wait a bit and try again.

Step 2: Connect the Domain in Enrollio

  1. Click Settings in the left navigation menu
  2. Go to Domains & URL Redirects
  3. Click the + Connect a domain button
  4. Click Connect for "Enrollment Page/Site/Blog/Webinar"
  5. Enter your domain or subdomain

For Root Domains (yourdaycare.com):

  1. Enter your root domain in the Domain URL field
  2. Click Add record manually
  3. By default, Enrollio will also add the www subdomain and redirect all www traffic to your root domain
Note: Clicking "Continue" activates Domain Connect, which tries to automatically add DNS records. If your registrar isn't supported, you'll be prompted to add records manually (which you've already done in Step 1).

For Subdomains (enroll.yourdaycare.com):

  1. Enter your full subdomain in the Domain URL field
  2. Click Add record manually

Step 3: Link Your Domain to an Enrollment Page or Site

Once Enrollio verifies your DNS records, you'll choose which enrollment page or website to connect:

  1. Select your enrollment page or site from the dropdown
  2. Choose which specific page should be the default landing page
  3. Click Link Domain

That's it! Enrollio will automatically generate and install an SSL certificate for your domain. This process takes a few minutes to complete.

Pro tip: Want a page to open at your root domain (yourdaycare.com) instead of with a path (yourdaycare.com/home)? Set it as the default page under Settings > Domains & URL Redirects > Manage Domain > Edit Domain.

How to Check Your DNS Records

If you're having trouble connecting your domain, use MXtoolbox to verify your DNS records are set up correctly:

  1. Go to mxtoolbox.com
  2. Select DNS Lookup from the dropdown menu
  3. Enter your domain name
  4. Click DNS Lookup

The tool will show you all DNS records for your domain. Look for your A or CNAME record to confirm it's pointing to the right place.

Remember: DNS changes can take 24-48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

SSL/Security Error

If parents see a privacy or SSL error when visiting your domain, it's usually caused by one of these issues:

  • Multiple DNS records: You have more than one A or CNAME record for the same domain/subdomain. Remove the duplicate records.
  • Missing DNS record: You haven't added the required A or CNAME record yet.
  • AAAA record exists: Your domain has an AAAA (IPv6) record in addition to the A/CNAME record. Remove the AAAA record.

"CNAME/A Record Not Found" Error

When connecting your domain in Enrollio, you might see this error:

"Couldn't find a CNAME/A record pointing to sites.ludicrous.cloud/162.159.140.166"

This means one of two things:

  • DNS hasn't propagated yet: Wait up to 24 hours and try again
  • Record not added correctly: Double-check your DNS settings at your registrar. Make sure the Host/Name and Value/Target match exactly what's shown in Step 1
Pro tip: Use the MXtoolbox method above to verify your DNS records are visible before connecting in Enrollio.
