Understanding the Issue

If you're seeing blank messages where WhatsApp voice notes used to be in your parent conversations, this is a known limitation with how Meta (WhatsApp's parent company) handles media storage.

Why This Happens

Meta automatically deletes media files — including voice notes — after 30 days. Once this retention period expires, the voice note is no longer available to display in your conversation history.

This affects all WhatsApp Business API users, not just Enrollio. It's how Meta manages storage across their platform.

Pro Tip: If you need to keep important voice notes from parents (like verbal enrollment confirmations or special requests), download them within 30 days and save them to the family's profile or your internal records.

What We're Doing About It

We're working on adding a visual indicator in the conversation window to show when media has expired due to Meta's retention policy. This will make it clearer why certain messages appear blank.

Keep an eye out for this update in future releases.
