Facebook Conversion Leads: Track Parent Engagement and Optimize Your Ads

Facebook Conversions API connects your marketing data directly with Enrollio, helping you optimize ad targeting, decrease cost per enrollment, and measure real results. Instead of just tracking clicks, you'll track what happens after—when a prospective family books a tour, completes an application, or enrolls.

This guide walks you through setting up Conversion Leads for Facebook Lead Ads. When parents submit your instant form, Enrollio automatically syncs their information and tracks their progress through your enrollment process. As families move closer to enrollment, Facebook learns which ads bring the best leads—not just the most leads.

What You'll Track

Enrollio supports two types of Facebook conversion tracking:

Enrollment Page Events

Track what happens on your enrollment pages and landing pages: page visits, form submissions, tour bookings, application starts, and more. Learn how to set up Enrollment Page Event tracking.

Enrollment Pipeline Events

Track how prospective families move through your enrollment process. For example, you create a pipeline called "Fall 2025 Enrollment" with stages like New Inquiry → Tour Scheduled → Application Started → Enrolled. Enrollio sends this movement to Facebook so your ads get smarter over time.

Conversion Leads (This Guide)

This integration helps your Facebook Lead Ads optimize for enrollment quality, not just form submissions. When a parent fills out your instant form, their information flows into Enrollio. As you nurture them and they move through your enrollment stages, Facebook learns which ads attract families who actually enroll—and shows your ads to more people like them.

Is This Right for Your Center?

Conversion Leads works best if you:

  • Run Facebook or Instagram Lead Ads with instant forms
  • Map your Facebook form fields correctly in Enrollio
  • Generate at least 250 leads per month
  • Can send data to Facebook daily (Enrollio does this automatically)
  • See families reach your target stage (like "Enrolled") within 28 days
  • Have a conversion rate between 1% and 40% for your target stage

Setup Overview

You'll complete three main steps:

  1. Create a Facebook Pixel in Meta Business Suite
  2. Create an automation to capture leads and add them to your enrollment pipeline
  3. Create an automation to send enrollment progress back to Facebook

Pro Tip: Set aside 30-45 minutes for initial setup. Once it's running, Enrollio handles everything automatically.

Step 1: Create Your Facebook Pixel

Head to your Meta Business Suite and make sure you're connected to the correct ad account with proper access to your Facebook Page.

Create the Pixel

  1. Click Events Manager in the left sidebar
  2. Click Connect Data Sources
  3. Choose CRM from the options, then click Next
  4. Review Facebook's best practices and click Next
  5. Either Create New Pixel or select an existing pixel from your list
  6. Click Continue when your pixel details are ready

Connect Enrollio as Your CRM Partner

  1. After creating or selecting your pixel, choose LeadConnector as your CRM partner
  2. Click Next

Note: Facebook may try to redirect you to log in to the partner website. You can ignore this—just continue with the automation setup below.

What to Expect

You'll see a screen showing your CRM is selected. Initially, Facebook will display "Wait for seven days of CRM events." This is normal.

Important: If you get stuck at this step, make sure:

  • Data is being sent to your pixel daily and consistently
  • At least 50 events accumulate over 7 days
  • You're sending real events (test events don't count)
  • At least 2 stages in your enrollment pipeline are sending events

Step 2: Verify Your Facebook Integration

Before creating your automations, confirm your Facebook connection is working.

  1. In Enrollio, go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Verify your Facebook account is connected with admin permissions
  3. Confirm your Facebook Business Page (where you're an admin) is integrated
  4. Check that your Facebook Lead Form is correctly mapped

Map Your Facebook Form Fields

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Facebook Form Field Mapping
  2. Ensure your form is mapped correctly
  3. Verify the status shows Enabled

Enrollio supports mapping to single-option and multiple-option custom fields, so you can capture exactly the information you need about each family.

Step 3: Create Two Automations

You need two automations working together: one to capture new families and organize them in your enrollment pipeline, and another to send their progress back to Facebook.

Why Two Automations?

Automation #1 captures families from your Facebook Lead Ad and creates an enrollment opportunity in the right pipeline stage. This ensures every new lead is properly organized from the start.

Automation #2 watches your enrollment pipeline and tells Facebook each time a family moves to a new stage. This is what makes your ads smarter—Facebook learns which ads bring families who actually enroll.

Create Automation #1: Capture and Organize Leads

  1. Go to Automations → Automations
  2. Click Create Automation
  3. Name it something clear like "Facebook Leads → Enrollment Pipeline"
  4. Click Add New Trigger and select Facebook Lead Form Submitted
  5. In the trigger settings, choose which Facebook Lead Ad form should activate this automation

Add the Create/Update Enrollment Opportunity Action

  1. Click the + button to add an action
  2. Search for and select Create/Update Opportunity
  3. Choose your enrollment pipeline (e.g., "Fall 2025 Enrollment")
  4. Select the starting stage (e.g., "New Inquiry")
  5. Configure any additional tags or values you want to track
  6. Click Save

Create Automation #2: Send Progress to Facebook

  1. Create another new automation
  2. Name it "Facebook Conversion Tracking"
  3. Click Add New Trigger and select Opportunity Stage Changed
  4. Choose your enrollment pipeline
  5. Select which stage change should send data to Facebook (e.g., when families move to "Enrolled")

Add the Meta Conversion API Action

  1. Click the + button to add an action
  2. Search for and select Meta Conversion API
  3. You'll need to add three pieces of information:

Getting Your Access Token:

  1. Return to Facebook Events Manager → Data Sources → Settings
  2. Scroll down and click Generate Access Token
  3. Copy the token that appears
  4. Paste it into the Access Token field in Enrollio

Getting Your Pixel ID:

  1. In Facebook Events Manager, your Pixel ID appears at the top of the Data Sources page
  2. Copy this ID
  3. Paste it into the Pixel ID field in Enrollio

Stage Name:

Enter the exact name of the enrollment stage you want to track (e.g., "Enrolled" or "Application Submitted").

Advanced: Custom Field Mapping (Optional)

By default, Enrollio automatically maps the required Facebook tracking parameters. If you need custom control:

  1. In the Meta Conversion API action, toggle on Enable Custom Mapping
  2. You can manually map:
    • FBCLID for enrollment page events
    • Facebook Lead ID for pipeline events
  3. If you leave these fields empty, Enrollio uses its default values (recommended for most centers)

Test Your Setup

Before running live ads:

  1. Submit a test lead through your Facebook Lead Ad
  2. Verify the family appears in Enrollio with the correct enrollment opportunity
  3. Manually move them to your target stage (e.g., "Enrolled")
  4. Check Facebook Events Manager to confirm the event was received

Pro Tip: It may take a few hours for Facebook to process events. Don't worry if you don't see them immediately.

Monitor Your Results

After setup, Facebook needs about 7 days and at least 50 events to start optimizing your ads. During this time:

  • Keep running your ads consistently
  • Continue moving families through your enrollment pipeline normally
  • Check Facebook Events Manager occasionally to confirm data is flowing

Once Facebook has enough data, you'll start seeing improved ad performance—more tour bookings and enrollments from the same ad spend.

Troubleshooting

Events Not Appearing in Facebook

  • Verify your Access Token hasn't expired (regenerate if needed)
  • Confirm your Pixel ID is correct
  • Check that families are actually moving to the stage you're tracking
  • Make sure both automations are turned ON

Facebook Still Says "Wait for Events"

  • Confirm you have at least 2 different stages sending events
  • Verify you're sending real events, not test submissions
  • Check that you have at least 50 total events over 7 days

Families Not Entering Your Pipeline

  • Review your Facebook Form Field Mapping settings
  • Verify the form is enabled
  • Check that Automation #1 is active and has the correct trigger
