The WhatsApp chat widget lets prospective families reach you directly through WhatsApp when they visit your enrollment pages. Perfect for parents who prefer messaging over forms.

Important: You must have WhatsApp enabled with a connected phone number before setting up this widget. Go to Settings > WhatsApp to configure your number first.

Setting Up Your WhatsApp Chat Widget

  1. Navigate to Sites > Chat Widget
  2. Under Chat type, select WhatsApp Chat

Note: If you haven't configured a WhatsApp number yet, Enrollio will redirect you to Settings to add one.

Customize Your Widget

Once you've selected WhatsApp Chat, customize how the widget appears to families:

  • Welcome message — What families see when the widget opens
  • Colors — The widget defaults to WhatsApp's signature green, but you can adjust to match your branding
  • Contact form fields — Choose whether to collect email, phone, or both before starting the chat

Select Your WhatsApp Number

Choose which WhatsApp number will receive messages from families. This is where all chat conversations will be routed when a parent clicks to start a conversation.

When you're done customizing, click Save.

Adding the Widget to Your Enrollment Pages

You have two ways to add the WhatsApp widget:

Option 1: Internal Enrollment Pages

For pages built in Enrollio, simply toggle the widget on in your page settings. No code required.

  1. Open your enrollment page or landing page
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Enable the Chat Widget toggle

Option 2: External Websites

If you're adding the widget to a site outside Enrollio, you'll need to paste a code snippet into your website's header.

  1. Copy the widget code from Sites > Chat Widget
  2. Paste it into your website's header code section

How Families Experience the Widget

Here's what happens when a prospective family uses your WhatsApp widget:

  1. The widget appears on your enrollment page when it loads
  2. The family clicks the widget and fills out the contact form (if enabled)
  3. After submitting, they're redirected to WhatsApp (web or app) with a pre-filled message to your center
  4. The conversation continues in WhatsApp

Managing WhatsApp Conversations

All WhatsApp chats from your widget appear in Enrollio's Conversations section, where you can:

  • View all messages in one place
  • Reply directly from Enrollio
  • See the family's contact information and enrollment status
  • Track conversation history

Pro Tip: Many parents prefer messaging over phone calls when they're researching childcare. WhatsApp chat gives them a quick, low-pressure way to ask questions—which often leads to more tour bookings.
