Overview

Quick Replies let you create predefined response options for Facebook and Instagram messages, making it faster and easier to respond to parent inquiries. When a parent messages you, they'll see buttons they can tap to quickly tell you what they need—like "Schedule a Tour" or "Ask About Availability."

This is perfect for childcare centers that get frequent questions about enrollment, tours, or program details. You can respond instantly and keep parents engaged without typing the same answers over and over.

Setting Up Quick Replies

Quick Replies work through Facebook Interactive Messenger and Instagram Interactive Messenger automations. Here's how to set them up:

  1. Navigate to the Automations section in your dashboard and click Create Automation (or edit an existing one).
  2. Set up a trigger—for example, when a parent comments on your Facebook or Instagram post. You can select a specific post if needed.
  3. Choose Reply to comment via DM or Reply via DM under Facebook's or Instagram's interactive messaging options.
  4. In the setup area, add your Quick Reply buttons with predefined options.

Configuring Your Quick Replies

You can add up to 13 Quick Replies per message. Each Quick Reply can be a maximum of 20 characters, so keep them short and clear—like "Schedule Tour" or "Check Availability."

Pro Tip: If you haven't already created message templates (Snippets) in the Marketing section, set those up first. Then you can easily insert them when building your Quick Replies.

How Parents See Quick Replies

When you send a message with Quick Replies, parents see buttons below your message on their phone. They can tap one button to respond—no typing required.

In your Conversations inbox, you'll see all the Quick Reply options displayed below your outbound message. When a parent taps one, their response appears as an inbound message in blue.

Important: Quick Replies only appear on the most recent message you send. Once a parent selects a Quick Reply, they can't change their choice—it sends immediately. This keeps the conversation focused and moving forward.

Platform-Specific Guidelines

Facebook Messenger

You can add Quick Replies alongside buttons and images in the same message. This gives you flexibility to create rich, interactive experiences for parents.

Instagram Direct Messages

You can use either buttons or Quick Replies in a message—not both. Also, Quick Replies can only be added when you're not including attachments (like images or files) in that same message.

Example Use Cases for Childcare

  • Tour requests: "Schedule Tour" → automatically books them into your calendar
  • Program questions: "Infant Care" | "Toddler Program" | "Preschool" → sends details about that age group
  • Availability checks: "Check Openings" → sends current waitlist status or available spots
  • General inquiries: "Call Me" → provides your phone number | "Visit Website" → shares enrollment page link

By setting up Quick Replies for your most common parent questions, you can respond instantly—even when you're busy with the kids—and keep prospective families engaged throughout their enrollment journey.
