How to View AI Message Details in Your Conversations

When Enrollio AI responds to parents and families, you can see exactly how that response was generated. This transparency helps you understand what information the AI used and make improvements to your knowledge base in real-time.

What You'll See in AI Response Details

Each AI-generated message includes:

  • AI Response — The actual message sent to the parent
  • Prompt — The instruction given to the AI to generate the response
  • Knowledge Sources — The specific information from your FAQs or enrollment site that the AI referenced
  • Intent — What the AI understood the parent was asking about

How to Access Response Details

Step 1: In any conversation where Enrollio AI has responded, click the Response Info icon next to the AI message.

Understanding Each Section

AI Response

At the top of the sidebar, you'll see the exact message that was sent to the parent. This is your starting point for evaluating whether the response was helpful and accurate.

Prompt

This shows the instruction your AI bot used to generate the response. You can edit your prompt by clicking "Edit Prompt" to improve how your AI communicates with families.

Knowledge Sources

The AI pulls information from your knowledge base — your FAQs and enrollment site content. You'll see up to 3 specific pieces of content ("chunks") that the AI referenced to answer the parent's question.

Note: Knowledge sources only appear when the AI actually used your knowledge base to generate the response. If the AI answered from its general training, this section won't show specific chunks.

Intent

This shows what the AI understood the parent was asking about, which helps you see if your bot correctly interpreted the question.

Editing Knowledge Sources in Real-Time

One of the most powerful features is the ability to update your knowledge base directly from the conversation.

Step 1: In the Knowledge Sources section, click on any content chunk that needs correction.

Step 2: An editable text box appears. Make your changes and click Save.

Step 3: Your changes are immediately reflected in your knowledge base. The AI will use this updated information for all future responses.

Pro Tip: When you edit an FAQ, Enrollio creates a new version and marks the old one as deleted. This ensures your AI always uses your most current information.

Tracking Your Edits

When you modify enrollment site content through the response details, you'll see an "Edited" tag next to that URL in your knowledge base. This helps you keep track of which content you've refined based on real parent conversations.

Where You Can Use This Feature

AI response details are available for:

  • All Enrollio AI bot conversations
  • AI actions within automations
  • Test messages during bot setup
Pro Tip: Use response details regularly during your first few weeks with Enrollio AI. This helps you quickly identify gaps in your knowledge base and refine how your bot communicates with prospective families.

Important Notes

The prompt you see may vary depending on whether the message came from your main Enrollio AI bot or from an AI action within an automation. Each can have its own customized instructions.

If you don't see knowledge sources for a particular response, it means the AI answered from its general understanding rather than your specific knowledge base. Consider adding that topic to your FAQs so future responses can reference your center's specific information.
