Types of Discount Codes
Enrollio supports two discount types to fit different promotional strategies:
Percentage Discount
Offer a percentage off the total order. For example, "SUMMER20" for 20% off summer camp registration.
Fixed Amount Discount
Take a specific dollar amount off the order, regardless of the total. For example, "REFER50" for $50 off when referred by a current family.

Limit Total Redemptions
Control how many times a code can be used successfully across all families. This is perfect for "first 50 families" promotions. Only successful payments count toward the limit.
Restrict to Specific Products
Apply your discount to select products only. For example, create a code that works only for infant program enrollment but not for after-school care.

You can create a 100% discount code to offer free enrollment or trial programs. Families will still need to enter their payment information for verification purposes, especially if you plan to charge for add-ons or future services.
- Only Stripe supports 100% off transactions
- If you have both Stripe and PayPal enabled, PayPal will be hidden for free orders
- Families will see "Card details will be used for verification purposes" when checking out
Where Discount Codes Appear
Once you create an active discount code, the coupon field automatically appears on your enrollment forms. If no active codes exist for a form, the field won't show.
Hide the Discount Code Field
Don't want to show the discount field on a specific enrollment form? No problem.
- Open your enrollment page in the builder
- Go to the payment settings
- Toggle off Enable discount codes
- Save your changes
Tracking Discount Usage
Enrollio tracks every successful discount code redemption so you can measure your promotions' effectiveness.
View Discount Code History
- Go to Payments → Discount Codes
- Find your code in the list
- Click Actions → View History
- See all orders where this code was successfully applied
Understanding Discount Distribution
When a family applies a discount code to multiple products, Enrollio automatically calculates how the discount applies:
- Cart-level discounts are distributed proportionally across all one-time products based on their prices
- Product-specific discounts only apply to the selected products and distribute based on those products' values
In the order details, you'll see the discount broken down per product as a line item, showing exactly how much was saved on each item.

Discount codes can have three statuses:
| Status | Description | Available Actions |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Code is currently live and can be redeemed | Edit, Delete, View History |
| Scheduled | Code will activate on a future date | Edit, Delete |
| Expired | Code has passed its end date or hit redemption limit | Edit, Delete, View History |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do discount codes work with all products?
Yes, codes work with both one-time and recurring products, including registration fees, tuition, and add-on products.
Are discount codes case-sensitive?
No. Families can enter codes in any case, and Enrollio will recognize them. The system automatically converts all codes to uppercase.
Can I reuse a discount code name?
The actual code must be unique, but you can use the same internal name for multiple codes. However, we recommend unique names to avoid confusion when tracking performance.
What counts as a redemption?
Only successful completed payments count toward your redemption limit. Failed payment attempts or abandoned carts don't count.
Where can I see discount code details in orders?
Open any order in the Orders section, and you'll see the applied discount code as a line item showing the code name and the discount amount per product.
Can families combine multiple discount codes?
No, families can only apply one discount code per order.
What happens when a code reaches its redemption limit?
The code automatically becomes inactive and won't be accepted on enrollment forms. Families who try to use it will see an error message.
