Enrollio lets you create flexible connections between Enrollment Opportunities and Custom Objects, so you can visualize how different records relate to each other in your CRM. This means you can represent real-world relationships—like linking an Enrollment Opportunity to a specific child, tour event, or program—giving you a complete picture of each family's journey.
Why This Matters
Associations make your childcare CRM more powerful and connected:
- Get a complete view of every enrollment opportunity and its related information
- Mirror real relationships—connect families, children, tours, or programs to enrollment opportunities
- Save time by managing related information from one screen instead of jumping between records
- Use in automations—association data works in automations, reports, and exports to personalize communication and improve tracking
Key Features
- Supports one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, and many-to-many relationships
- Create and manage associations directly from Enrollment Opportunities or Custom Object panels
- Search and link existing records instantly—no need to leave your current screen
- View associated records in Opportunity Details, Kanban cards, and List Views
- Add association fields to layouts for better visibility and reporting
How to Create an Association
Step 1: Open the Associations Tab
- Go to Settings → Custom Objects → [Your Object]
- Click the Associations tab at the top
- Click Create Association to start linking your Custom Object with Enrollment Opportunities
Step 2: Configure the Association
When the Create Association panel opens:
- Select the object to associate with (for example, Enrollment Opportunities)
-
Name your association:
- Use a Single Label (e.g., "Enrollment") if both objects share the same reference
- Use a Pair of Labels (e.g., "Primary Child ↔ Sibling") if each side needs a unique name
-
Configure the relationship type:
- One-to-One: Each record connects to only one record on the other side
- One-to-Many / Many-to-One: One record connects to multiple others
- Many-to-Many: Unlimited connections both ways
- (Optional) Set record limits to restrict the number of connections per record (up to 1,000)
- Review the Preview panel to confirm your setup
- Click Save
Managing Associations from Enrollment Opportunities
Once your association is created, you can link records directly from any Enrollment Opportunity:
- Open any Enrollment Opportunity record
- Navigate to the Associated Objects tab in the left panel
- Click + Associate new [Object]
- Search and select the Custom Object you want to link
- Choose the relevant label (such as "Child" or "Program")
- Click Save
Your association appears immediately under its category (e.g., Parents, Tours, Children). Click any associated record to open it in a side panel for quick edits without leaving the Enrollment Opportunity screen.

After setting up associations, they appear throughout Enrollio to improve visibility and workflow efficiency.
Opportunity Details
All linked Custom Objects display in the Associated Objects panel of an Enrollment Opportunity. This gives you direct access to related data—like linked tours or children—in one view.
Kanban View
In the Kanban view, you can display associations directly on Enrollment Opportunity cards:
- Go to Enrollment Opportunities → Manage Fields
- Add the field Association Label (Object Type) to your card layout
This helps your enrollment team quickly identify which tours, children, or programs are tied to each opportunity.

In List view, add the same association field as a column to display all linked records at a glance. This is especially useful for bulk reviews, filtering, and CSV exports.
Example Use Cases for Childcare Centers
Multi-Child Families
Link multiple "Child" Custom Objects to a single "Enrollment Opportunity" to track all siblings in one family. This gives your enrollment coordinator quick visibility into each child's status and needs.
Tour Follow-up
Connect "Tour" Custom Objects with their related "Enrollment Opportunity" records. This helps your team understand which families attended tours and when, making follow-up more personalized.
Program Placement
Associate "Program" or "Classroom" Custom Objects to Enrollment Opportunities. Your staff can easily track which program each prospective family is interested in, all from a single view.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I limit an Enrollment Opportunity to only one Custom Object?
Yes. When configuring your relationship, choose One-to-One or set One-to-N with N = 1.
Will renaming a label break existing associations?
No. Renaming only changes the display label—the internal link remains intact.
Can I bulk import associations?
Not yet. Associations must currently be created manually or via automations.
Can I include associations in reports and exports?
Yes. Once the field is added in Manage Fields, it will appear in exports and reporting data.
What happens if I delete a record?
When an Enrollment Opportunity or Custom Object is deleted, all of its associated links are automatically removed to maintain data integrity.
What happens when a family completes enrollment?
The associations remain intact even after an enrollment is complete. This preserves the historical relationship between the enrollment and related records like tours, children, and programs.
