Share Files and Documents in Conversations
Attachments make it easy to share important documents with families—whether you're sending enrollment forms, photo permissions, medical records, or facility photos. In Enrollio, you can attach files to emails and text messages, helping you communicate more effectively with prospective and current families.
What Are Attachments?
Attachments let you send and receive files within Conversations. Share important documents, images, or videos with families directly in your messages.
You can upload files from your computer or choose from files you've already uploaded to your media library. If a file is too large for a text message or exceeds the 20MB email limit, Enrollio automatically uploads it to your media library and shares it as a link instead.
Why Use Attachments
Keep everything in one place: Share enrollment contracts, parent handbooks, facility photos, and permission forms without switching platforms.
Multiple upload options: Upload files from your computer or reuse files already in your media library.
Automatic link sharing: Large files are automatically converted to links, so delivery isn't blocked by size limits.
Engaging video previews: Videos uploaded through your media library automatically generate animated preview thumbnails in emails.
How to Attach Files to Messages
Follow these steps to add attachments to your conversations with families:
1. Open Conversations
Go to the Conversations tab in Enrollio. Select an existing conversation or start a new message with a family.

Click the paperclip icon in the message composer (works for both text messages and emails).
Choose a file from your computer or select one from your media library if you've uploaded it before. Once selected, the file attaches to your message and you're ready to send.

You can also paste files directly into the message composer:
- Copy a file or image on your computer
- Click inside the message composer
- Press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac)
- The file appears as an attachment automatically
Note: Pasted attachments follow the same file type and size limits as uploaded attachments.
Upload Options
Upload from your computer: Select images, PDFs, videos, or documents from your local storage.
Use your media library: If you've uploaded a file before (like your enrollment packet or facility tour video), select it from your media library instead of uploading again.
How Large Files Are Handled
If you attach a file larger than 20MB to an email, or if you attach any file to a text message, Enrollio automatically uploads it to your media library and inserts a link in your message instead.
This ensures smooth delivery without size restrictions, and families can still access the file by clicking the link.

Video Thumbnails in Emails
When you upload a video through your media library and include it in an email, Enrollio automatically creates an animated preview thumbnail.
These previews make your emails more engaging and encourage families to watch your facility tours, staff introduction videos, or program overviews.

Q: What types of files can I attach?
You can attach images, documents, PDFs, and videos. Email attachments are limited to 20MB—larger files are automatically converted to media library links.
Q: How do I access my uploaded files?
All uploaded files are stored in your media library, accessible from the Conversations interface. Reuse previously uploaded files without reattaching them manually.
Q: What happens if my file exceeds the email size limit?
If an attachment exceeds 20MB, it's automatically uploaded to your media library and a link to the file is inserted in your email. Large files can still be shared without delivery issues.
Q: Can I send attachments via text message?
Yes, but because text messages have size limitations, files are automatically converted into media library links for smooth delivery.
Q: How do video thumbnails work?
When you upload a video through your media library, Enrollio automatically creates an animated preview thumbnail. This makes emails more visually appealing and encourages families to watch the video.
