What is the Browser Dialer?

The browser dialer lets you make phone calls directly from Enrollio without switching to your phone or mobile app. It works on desktop and mobile browsers, so you can call parents and families while managing their enrollments.

Making Outbound Calls

Click the green phone icon in the top bar—it's visible on nearly every page in Enrollio.

Once the dialer opens, you have several ways to place a call:

  • Dial manually by clicking the number buttons
  • Select a recently used number from your call history
  • Search for a family and click their number to dial

Managing Active Calls

Once you're connected, you can control the call with these options:

Mute

Click Mute to turn off your microphone. The parent can't hear you, but you can still hear them. Great for checking details with your staff during a call.

Hold

Click Hold to put the entire call on hold. Neither side can hear each other.

Warm Transfer

A warm transfer lets you talk to another staff member before connecting them to the parent. Search for another user or dial their number to open a second call. You can switch between both calls before clicking Patch Call to connect everyone together.

Blind Transfer

A blind transfer immediately redirects the call to another number and disconnects you from it. Use this when you need to send a parent to another staff member without briefing them first.

Troubleshooting Call Issues

If you're having trouble making calls, work through these steps:

Step 1: Enable Microphone Access

Make sure your browser has permission to use your microphone. Click the icon to the left of the URL bar in Chrome to check permissions. On Windows 10 or Mac, you may need to adjust system-level privacy settings.

Step 2: Check for Browser Extensions

VPNs and other extensions can interfere with the dialer. Try opening your browser in incognito or guest mode—if calls work there, an extension is the problem.

Step 3: Adjust Call Timeout

Make sure your phone number's outbound call timeout is set to at least 20 seconds. Go to Settings → Phone Numbers and check the timeout setting for your calling number.

Common Questions

Why are my calls going out from the wrong number?

If you have a phone number assigned to you, calls will automatically use that number when your user role is set to User and you only have access to assigned data.

If you have access to all records, you can change which number you're calling from using the Calling From dropdown in the dialer.

How do I remove the "this call will be recorded" message?

We don't recommend removing this warning—many states require it by law. If you need to change or disable it, go to Settings → Phone Numbers and adjust the recording settings for your number.

Pro Tip: Always check your local laws before disabling call recording notifications. Some states require two-party consent for recording conversations.

How do I show my center's name instead of just a phone number on caller ID?

You can improve how your number appears to parents by registering it in Settings → Phone Numbers → Trust Center → CNAM. This helps your calls look professional and reduces the chance they'll be marked as spam.

Why do I hear a short tone before the normal ringing?

Enrollio plays a brief connecting tone while reaching the parent's phone carrier. You'll hear the familiar ringing sound once the carrier confirms their phone is actually ringing. If the carrier can't be reached, the call ends after the connecting tone instead of ringing endlessly.

What's the Voice Integrity message I see after missed calls?

If a parent doesn't answer your call, you might see a suggestion to use Voice Integrity. This service helps keep your phone numbers off spam lists used by major carriers, which means parents are more likely to answer your calls. Click the prompt to register your number.
