What Are Custom Notifications?
Custom Notifications let you control how and where you receive alerts about important activities in Enrollio—like new messages from parents, upcoming tours, staff tasks, or enrollment updates. Instead of being overwhelmed by constant pings, you decide what matters most and where you want to see it.
Why Use Custom Notifications?
Running a childcare center means juggling tours, enrollments, parent communication, and staff coordination. Smart notification settings help you stay on top of what's urgent without the noise.
- Stay focused: Choose which events trigger alerts and which channels deliver them
- Never miss a tour: Get reminders before scheduled appointments
- Manage your team: Receive task notifications only for items assigned to you
- Reduce alert fatigue: Turn off notifications that don't apply to your role
- Work your way: Get alerts via web app, desktop, email, mobile, or text message
- Quick access: Click any notification to jump straight to that conversation, task, or appointment

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the "Mark all as read" button work?
It changes all your current notifications from unread to read status. The notifications remain visible—they're just no longer highlighted as new.
Why am I receiving duplicate notifications for the same message?
This happens when multiple notification rules apply to the same event. For example, you might get one alert because a conversation was assigned to you, and another because a new message arrived in that conversation.
To fix this, review your notification settings and turn off overlapping options. For instance, if you're getting alerts for "assigned conversations," you might not need alerts for "all new conversations."
What does the "Clear All" button do?
It removes all current notifications from your view. New notifications will still appear after you click it, but cleared notifications cannot be restored. Use this when you want a fresh start on your notification feed.
Can I set different notification preferences for different client accounts?
Your notification preferences apply across all client accounts you have access to. However, you can adjust which types of events trigger notifications, so you can effectively customize what you see from each account based on your role.
What happens if I miss a notification?
All notifications remain in your notification feed until you clear them. You can review past notifications anytime by clicking the notification bell icon in the top navigation bar.
