Testing Your Voice AI Agent

Before your Voice AI agent starts answering calls from prospective families, you need to test how it handles real conversations. Testing helps you fine-tune responses, validate booking flows, and ultimately increase your tour bookings and enrollment conversions.

Enrollio gives you two ways to test: Web Call (instant browser-based testing) or Phone Call (real telephony). Use Web Call for fast iteration, or Phone Call when you want to validate the complete parent experience.

What Are Test Calls?

Test calls let you simulate real conversations with your Voice AI agent before going live. You can either receive a phone call from the agent to your mobile, or start a web call directly in your browser—no phone number required.

Both methods help you verify the agent's behavior, tune prompts, and confirm actions like booking tours or adding families to waitlists.

Note: Web Call does not support call transfers. The session uses your logged-in contact details as the caller identity.

Why Test Your Agent?

  • Faster setup: Start a Web Call instantly—no phone number purchase required
  • Realistic validation: Use Phone Call to test end-to-end call quality and transfers
  • Quick feedback: Hear responses immediately, then refine prompts and settings
  • Clean analytics: Test calls are excluded from your dashboard analytics and performance metrics
  • Full feature testing: Exercise nearly all agent actions during trials (Web Call excludes call transfer)

How to Run a Web Call Test

Web Call is perfect for quick testing while you're building or refining your agent.

  1. Open AI Agents from the left sidebar
  2. Click Voice AI in the top navigation
  3. Select Agent List, then click the agent you want to test
  4. In the right panel titled Test Your Agent, click Web Call
  5. Choose your scenario: Inbound (parent calling you) or Outbound (agent calling parent)
  6. Click Start Web Call
  7. Allow microphone access when your browser prompts you
  8. Start speaking with your agent as if you were a parent inquiring about enrollment

Pro Tip: Use an up-to-date browser and confirm your microphone is working before starting the test. Chrome and Edge work best.

Web Call Limitations

  • Call transfer to staff members is not supported in Web Call
  • Uses your logged-in contact as the caller identity
  • Best for testing conversation flow, not telephony features

How to Run a Phone Call Test

Phone Call testing validates the complete parent experience, including call quality, hold music, and transfers.

  1. Open AI Agents from the left sidebar
  2. Click Voice AI in the top navigation
  3. Select Agent List, then click the agent you want to test
  4. In the Test Your Agent panel, click Phone Call
  5. Choose your scenario: Inbound or Outbound
  6. Select the Caller ID (the phone number the agent will use to call you)
  7. Enter Your Phone Number (where you'll receive the test call)
  8. Click Call Me
  9. Answer the incoming call on your device and interact with the agent

Note: Phone-based test calls use your normal telephony setup. Standard calling rates may apply.

Testing While Creating an Agent

You don't have to wait until your agent is complete to test it. While creating a new Voice AI agent, you can run test calls at the Phone & Availability step.

The Test Your Agent panel works the same way during creation, giving you access to both Web Call and Phone Call options. This helps you validate your agent's behavior before you finish setup.

For more details on creating agents, see Creating Voice AI Agents.

About Outbound Testing

The Outbound scenario option only appears when your account is approved for Voice AI outbound calling and compliance.

If you don't see the Outbound option:

  1. Go to AI Agents → Voice AI
  2. Click Enable Outbound Calls
  3. Complete the registration process

Reviewing Your Test Call History

After testing, you can review transcripts, recordings, and call summaries to understand how your agent handled the conversation.

Where to Find Test Calls

  • From the Test Your Agent panel, click the Call History dropdown
  • Or go to Voice AI → Dashboards & Logs and filter by Call Type: Test
