Managing Third-Party App Connections

Apps in the Enrollio Marketplace let you connect your platform with third-party services to extend functionality. Before you can use these integrations, you'll need to authenticate the connection between Enrollio and the external app.

This article explains how app connections work and how to manage them across your client accounts.

How App Connections Work

All third-party app connections are established at the client account level. This means each childcare center you manage will maintain its own unique connection to the external app.

Important: If you manage multiple childcare centers, each one needs its own connection — connections are never shared between client accounts.

Installing Apps with Connections

Single client account installation: When you install an app that requires an external connection to one client account, the connection prompt launches automatically right after installation completes. Simply follow the authentication steps to finish setup.

Bulk installation across multiple client accounts: If you're installing an app across multiple childcare centers at once, the connection request doesn't launch automatically. Instead, each client account owner must complete the connection from their own App Marketplace.

Supported Authentication Methods

Enrollio supports three ways to authenticate connections with third-party apps:

OAuth Authentication

You'll log in directly with your third-party app account and authorize Enrollio to access it. This is the most secure and common method.

API Key Authentication

You'll copy an API key from the third-party app and paste it into Enrollio. The API key acts as your connection credential.

Basic Authentication

You'll enter your username and password for the third-party app directly in Enrollio.

Pro Tip: OAuth authentication is generally the most secure option and doesn't require you to share passwords or generate API keys. If an app offers multiple authentication methods, OAuth is usually your best choice.

Managing Existing Connections

To view or disconnect an existing app connection:

  1. Navigate to the App Marketplace in your client account
  2. Find the connected app
  3. Click the settings icon or "Manage Connection" option
  4. You can disconnect, reconnect, or update your connection credentials here

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

If you're having trouble connecting an app:

  • Make sure you have the correct permissions in the third-party app
  • Check that your API key (if using one) is still valid and hasn't expired
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the app
  • Verify you're logged into the correct account in the third-party service

If connection problems persist, contact Enrollio support with details about the specific app and any error messages you're seeing.
