How to Pause and Resume Subscriptions in Enrollio

Enrollio now allows businesses to pause subscriptions either for a set period or indefinitely. This feature provides greater flexibility for managing ongoing subscriptions, ensuring businesses can handle payments and customer relationships efficiently.

How It Works

Subscriptions can be paused and resumed in two ways:

1. Pausing from the Subscription List

• Navigate to Payments > Subscriptions.
• Locate the subscription you want to pause and click on the three dots next to it.
• Select the Pause option to either pause the subscription for a specific time (definite) or indefinitely.

2. Pausing from the Subscription Details Page

• You can also pause subscriptions directly from the subscription details page by clicking the Pause button.

Pausing Subscriptions: Definite vs. Indefinite

• Definite Pause:
  Set an end date for the pause, after which the subscription will automatically resume. However, you can manually resume the subscription anytime before the end date.

• Indefinite Pause:
  Subscriptions paused indefinitely remain inactive until manually resumed by the user.

Invoicing for Paused Subscriptions

While subscriptions are paused, invoices will still be generated on every payment due date. Businesses have two options for handling these invoices:

• Draft Invoices:
  Invoices can be generated in draft state, allowing businesses to send them to customers. Payments received for these invoices will be marked against the subscription.

• Void Invoices:
  Alternatively, invoices can be generated as void, meaning they will not be sent to the customer, and no payment will be processed.

CSV Download Enhancements

To improve subscription tracking, new fields related to the pause functionality have been added to the CSV download of subscriptions, including:

• Paused Date
• Resume Date
• Other relevant details for paused subscriptions

Use Cases for Pausing Subscriptions

1. Seasonal Services:
   Businesses offering seasonal services can pause subscriptions during off-seasons and automatically resume them when operations restart.

2. Customer Requests:
   If customers request a temporary hold on their subscription due to vacations or other reasons, the subscription can be paused and resumed based on their needs.

3. Payment Adjustments:
   While paused, businesses can still generate invoices in draft mode, ensuring customers are aware of their payment schedules and allowing payments to be collected for future periods.
