Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up Mailgun in Enrollio

Setting up Mailgun in Enrollio is a straightforward process that will enhance your email delivery by ensuring reliable communication with your contacts. Follow these steps to get Mailgun integrated with your Enrollio account.

 

1. Sign Up for Mailgun

Begin by signing up for Mailgun at the following link:

2. Verify Your Email Address

Check your inbox for the verification email from Mailgun and click the link to confirm your email address.

 

 

3. Add a New Domain in Mailgun

In Mailgun, navigate to Sending > Add New Domain.

  • Main Domain: If your domain (e.g., companyname.com) is not used with GSuite or any other email provider, you can set up the main domain directly with Mailgun.
  • Subdomain: If you're using another email provider for your main domain, set up a subdomain for Mailgun (e.g., mg.companyname.com or support.companyname.com).

Ensure the domain or subdomain is set up under the US region (not EU) and click Add Domain.

 

 

4. Add DNS Records for Domain Verification

You’ll need to add 5 DNS records to your domain provider’s DNS settings for Mailgun to work correctly. If you're unsure where to add the DNS records, follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Identify Your DNS Hosting Provider

Use MXToolbox to identify your DNS hosting provider:

  • Enter your domain (e.g., companyname.com) and click search (no "http://" required).
  • Review the results to see which provider is hosting your DNS records (e.g., GoDaddy, Wordpress, CloudFlare).

Step 2: Access Your DNS Settings

Once you've identified your DNS provider, log into your account with that provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Wordpress). 

 

Step 3: Add the Required DNS Records

In your DNS settings, add the 5 DNS records provided by Mailgun. These typically include TXT, MX, and CNAME records for verifying ownership and email routing.

Once added, allow a few hours for the DNS changes to propagate.

 

5. Verify DNS Records in Mailgun

After the DNS records have propagated, return to Mailgun to verify the domain. Mailgun will automatically check the records and notify you once your domain is verified.

 

 

6. Retrieve Your Mailgun API Key

Once your domain is verified, locate the Mailgun API Key for integration with Enrollio:

  • Go to Settings > API Keys in Mailgun.
  • Copy the Private API Key.

 

7. Configure Mailgun in Enrollio

With the API Key in hand, log in to Enrollio to complete the integration:

  • Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Mailgun.
  • Paste the API Key and select your verified domain.
  • Save the changes to enable Mailgun for sending emails via Enrollio.

 

8. Send a Test Email in Enrollio

To ensure everything is working correctly:

  • Go to Conversations > Test Email in Enrollio.
  • Compose and send a test email to confirm that Mailgun is set up properly and emails are being sent as expected.
