How to Set Up a Texting Number for Your Business
Purchase a Texting Number for your Studio
Inside the "Phone Number" under "Manage Numbers" you'll have the option to purchase a toll-free number while you wait to purchase a mobile number (add number).
Note: The texting number will be a number that you will utilize for texting if somebody calls that number. It will forward to the studio line of yours.

Note: You can use filter to search via area code
Note: You can toggle on the toll-free specifically if you want a toll-free number or you can choose local.
It will show you a list of phone numbers. This is a monthly fee paid directly to Twilio to rent the number.
If you have an area code that you type in and you see no numbers available, it's just because its a very popular area code and there unfortunately no numbers available.
Note: You have the option to text-enable your landline but we strongly discourage that process as it will takes anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks typically because that process is delayed by Twilio communication with the phone carriers who are often unresponsive and we are communication with Twilio and that makes a very lengthy process.
Once you are ATP verified, you should see this:
If you have purchased a toll-free number, just click on the three dots which is shown below and click set as default.
This will be the default number (texting number you have purchased).
If you click on "edit configuration", you can name the number.
Other settings are the preferred selection:
Call recording: stated that the call will be recorded for quality purposes
Note: enable this setting if you are doing call recording
Timeout: incoming calls will ring 30 seconds and outgoing calls will ring 60 seconds before disconnecting.
Note: We recommend at least 20 seconds for both.
Don't forget to click "Save" to save your settings and any changes.
Note: Before you utilize the chat widget for your website, you will need to have either a toll-free or local texting number.
