Regulatory Requirements in Mexico
In Mexico, AT&T is the only mobile carrier that allows texts to be sent from a regular phone number. These regulations are intended to ensure that text messages are primarily used for person-to-person (P2P) interactions.
Automatic Change of Sender ID
When more than nine texts are sent from the same number in less than two minutes, the system automatically changes the 'Sender ID'—that is, the number that appears as the sender. This rule is in place to comply with Mexico’s messaging regulations.
Class and Reminder Communications
As a dance studio owner, you may send out multiple SMS notifications for class schedules, event updates, and special promotions. When these texts are sent rapidly (for example, during class reminder rushes), the regulation may trigger a change in the sender number.
Understanding the Change
If your messages appear to come from a different number than the one displayed in the Enrollio Phone Numbers tab, rest assured that this is due to compliance with Mexican messaging rules and not an error on your part.
Vote for Shortcode Support
To help prevent this automatic change and to ensure your messages consistently show the expected sender number, consider supporting the addition of shortcode functionality. Shortcodes can bypass this limitation by adhering to different rules, keeping your studio’s communications seamless and professional.
By understanding these regulations and how they impact your studio’s text messaging, you can better manage your class notifications and communications with parents and students. If you have any further questions or need additional support, don’t hesitate to reach out through Enrollio’s Help Center.
Happy dancing and smooth messaging with Enrollio!
