Follow these steps to set up the Split Action in Enrollio for your dance studio:
Add the Split ActionOpen the enrollment builder. Click the "+" icon to add a new action, then browse or search for Internal > Split.
Configure the Split ActionChoose "Random Split" from the Distribution Type dropdown (this is the only option).
Configure Paths
In the Paths section, add or remove paths (up to 5) as needed.
Rename each path to reflect the different class promotions or strategies (e.g., "Beginner Class Offer" or "Advanced Workshop Invite").
Set the percentage (%) weight for each path—the percentages must total 100%.
Note: You can allocate a 0% weight to a path if you wish, as long as all paths add up to 100%.
Review StatisticsUse the Statistics tab on the action to view how many contacts have taken each path, along with overall totals. This data can help you understand class enrollment trends.
The Split Action lets you send contacts down different pathways within your workflow. In your studio, this might mean directing families to different class levels, promotional offers, or trial class experiences. Key points include:
Random Distribution: The only available criteria is random, so you can assign a set percentage of contacts to each path.
Consistent Path Assignment: Once a contact is assigned a path, they remain on that path—even if they re-enter the same workflow.
Ideal for Testing and Routing: Perfect for A/B testing different class promotions or routing students to various instructors based on your studio’s needs.
Note: If you want to split contacts based on a specific criteria (for example, the number of classes attended), consider using the If/Else action instead.
Here are some examples of how the Split Action can benefit your dance studio:
A/B Testing Class Promotions:Test different promotional emails or social media posts for upcoming dance classes. For instance, send one version highlighting a free trial class and another featuring a discount on first lessons.
Lead Routing:Distribute prospective student inquiries. For example, route 75% of inquiries to your most experienced instructor who leads beginner classes, and 25% to an assistant coach who handles advanced dance workshops.
Campaign Optimization:Measure which promotional approach attracts more enrollments and adjust future campaigns based on the performance metrics tracked in Enrollio.
What happens if the percentages don’t add up to 100%?Enrollio will prompt you to correct the percentages so they total exactly 100% before you can save the action.
Can I change the split configuration after the workflow has started?Yes, you can modify the Split Action settings. However, any changes will only apply to new contacts entering the workflow after the update.
How many paths can I create within a Split Action? You can create up to 5 separate paths within a single Split Action.
Are contacts locked into their assigned path?Yes, once a contact is assigned a path, they remain there—even if they re-enter the workflow later.
Can I see performance metrics for each path in real-time?Yes, real-time performance data is available via the Statistics tab or by enabling the Stats View in your workflow.
Can Split Actions be used for non-promotional workflows?Absolutely. You can use Split Actions not only for marketing communications but also for internal routing, such as directing support queries or managing trial class sign-ups.
